Problem based learning components Concept Examples Discussion Assessment
Most of this session was a discussion on creating and planning comprehensive pal activities online and that you can't jump into he hard tasks at first.
The best model is to have smaller components that students will work on by themselves, then a little togetherness, then finally work on a complex scenario as a group with specific roles and components.
Participants talked about that these are things that professors love and students hate
Industry talked about that it doesn't need to be that much of an emphasis because in the workplace about 30% of people do 90% of work, so group work is highly overrated
Is there enough data to show that if these problems are so good, and so game like, will students blow off everything else because of absorption in this one thing. There was nothi to say tis would happen one way or the other.
